Hawke’s Bay is pretty relaxed, making it really easy to bike to many of its fabulous attractions. Whether it's stopping off at the National Aquarium with kids, learning about the Ātea a Rangi Star Compass at Waitangi Regional Park, exploring the gannet (takapu) colony at Cape Kidnappers/Te Kauwae-a-Māui or doing a honey tasting at Arataki Honey Visitor Centre - there is plenty to side track your explorations and experience while riding the Trails.
Along the trails you’ll find fascinating unique visitor attractions, world renown wineries, restaurants, cafes, stores and galleries. Stock up on great produce and treats at shops, cafes, farm gate stalls and cellar doors. There are plenty of opportunities for shopping, from fashion to food, art to gifts, in Napier, Hastings and Havelock North.
A Hawke’s Bay visit is not is complete without experiencing our wonderful Hawke’s Bay Farmers Markets. Both markets have a wide range of fresh vegetables, fruit, meat, bread, eggs, pickles and preserves and more, for sale directly from the producer. For Saturday mornings in Napier, wander down Emerson Street, from the Napier i-SITE to Clive Square. For Sunday mornings in Hastings, ride to Clive and follow the iWay route inland to the Hawke's Bay Showgrounds. Find out more: www.hawkesbayfarmersmarket.co.nz
